Useful Tip

I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me where someone else is walking their dog and wants to have a socializing encounter.  I have been told over and over again, "my dog is friendly, they love other people and dogs."  Then the next thing I know, this person's dog has lunged at my dog; biting, barking, and growling.  Of course, the person is immediately apologetic saying, "they have never done that before."  I think just like people, dogs can be intimidated by a larger dog.  This became such a frequent occurrence while I was out with my dogs; I stopped having encounters.  Whenever you decide to have a socializing encounter with dogs; try to have it with someone you know as well as their dog.  Bad encounters can do permanent damage; encounters should be pleasant experiences for everyone.
